About The Founder
I built Your Daily Reset because knowing what you want is not always enough.
For more than 20 years, I have worked with people who wanted to change something in their lives, achieve something that mattered to them or become more of the person they knew they could be.
Along the way, I discovered something in my own life too.
You can achieve goals, keep moving forward and have a life that looks perfectly fine from the outside, while somewhere inside you still feel that something is off.
Have you ever looked at your life and thought: everything seems fine, so why doesn’t it feel right?
Something Felt Off
When something feels off for long enough, you can start treating it as normal.
That feeling became important to me. Because sometimes the problem is not that you need another goal, another achievement or another answer.
Sometimes there is simply a growing distance between the life you are living, where you really want to go and who you want to be while living it.
And when that distance has been there for long enough, you can get used to it. You keep going. You adapt. What once felt off slowly becomes part of everyday life.
What if that feeling isn’t something to ignore, but information?
That question changed the way I looked at High Performance.
Alignment
The goal was never only to achieve more. It was to live differently while creating it.
I began to see that direction and becoming belong together. It matters where you want to go, but it also matters who you choose to become in order to get there.
That principle has followed me through very different parts of my own life. From my years in the police, becoming Dutch Kung Fu champion and winning the Police Songfestival in 2004, to creating a theatre show and building a relationship that has lasted 30 years.
Those outcomes are completely different. The underlying principle was remarkably similar.
Get clear about where you want to go. Understand who you need to become. And begin living from that person now.
High Performance became something much more practical to me: living in alignment with where you want to go and who you choose to become.
The Same Principle, Different Lives
Different people. Different goals. The same shift.
Over the years, I began seeing the same principle show up in the lives of the people I worked with.
Marcel van Lent
Marcel already had the craftsmanship and ambition. As the way he saw himself began to change, so did the way he approached his goals, his choices and his performance.
Jaleesa
Jaleesa created a clear picture of the life she wanted, connected with that direction every day and began taking action from it. Her vision was no longer something she only hoped for. It became something that influenced how she lived and chose.
The Air Twiins
The Air Twiins already had talent. What changed was how they saw themselves and the possibilities ahead of them. That shift supported different choices about their development, education and basketball.
Their lives and goals were different. What interested me was what happened underneath the results.
Direction changed. Identity changed. Choices changed. Action changed.
Why Your Daily Reset
But there was still one problem.
For years, I could help someone stop, look at what was happening and recognize where something in their life was no longer aligned.
But real life does not happen during one conversation.
It happens when you wake up. At work. In a difficult conversation. When your energy changes. When an old reaction suddenly takes over. When you make a choice that feels right, or when you notice that something simply doesn’t.
And that left me with another question:
How do you notice misalignment yourself, in the middle of your own life, before it simply becomes your new normal?
That is why I created Your Daily Reset.
A way to pay attention to what your own life is showing you, recognize when you begin moving off course and practice returning to alignment, one day at a time.
Not because every uncomfortable moment means something is wrong.
Because what you feel, notice, choose and experience can give you information. And when you learn to work with that information, you can begin making more conscious choices about how you want to live.
Reset Your Life
You don’t have to wait until your life falls apart to start paying attention.
Maybe you already know exactly what you want to change.
Or maybe you only know that something doesn’t feel quite right anymore.
Either way, you can start by paying attention.
Connect with where you want to go.
Collect what your life is showing you.
Choose what you want to do with what you discover.
Calibrate when you notice yourself moving off course.
And tomorrow, begin again.
Reset Your Life. Be You. Be Free.
